Photo of the Day --March 7, 2010 – Hydrangeas


I’ve discovered that hydrangeas thrive in the kinds of conditions my yards usually offer: shady with a gardener of questionable commitment. Some day I’m likely to have a yard with nothing else in it but hydrangeas and lilacs, until then, I’ll enjoy taking photos of them when I can.

Gerbera daisies are so cheerful and vibrant. I really wanted to find a new angle to photograph them from, and this was my favorite image from the attempt. I liked the depth of looking into the petals from the side and it made a flower that is usually thought of as being flat faced have a lot more dimension.
