It’s sort of like an April Fool’s joke early—I was hoping by the time we were into March we wouldn’t have to worry about any more snow. This is the top of the gazebo at the hotel, taken from my ninth floor window.
Only a man of steel could stand unflinching in the weather we had Saturday while scantily clad. Or perhaps he's the god of Snow? If so, I hope he's been appeased now, and willing to let us enjoy some time with the goddess of Spring.
This scene was taken on the campus of Thomasville Medical Center hospital this morning. There was a wonderful blanket of fog, and the sun was just coming over the edge of the earth--breathtaking!
I'm driving down the road, keeping an eye out for interesting ideas for my Photo of the Day. I saw some really creative snowmen, and one snowbunny, and had almost decided to photograph one when I started noticing the fire hydrants poking up through the snow. That splash of red against the white snow just drew my eye. Happily none of the cars driving by splashed me with dirty snow slush. ;-)
Just for the record, it's not really safe to drive on slick roads while you photograph the snow plow in front of you. For that matter, it's not a good idea to be out on the roads of North Carolina on a day when the snow plows are needed.
